Up-Island Council on Aging:  Administrative Assistant

General Duties: Job requires strong computer skills. Knowledge of word processing, data entry, spreadsheets & data base.  Duties include record keeping and working with the public in-person and by telephone.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma; office administrative experience; Good communication and organizational skills required.

Up-Island Council on Aging: Outreach Coordinator

General Duties: Provide case management; analyze, assess, advise and coordinate programs and services for seniors. 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field: two years of developing and implementing programs for seniors; or any equivalent combinations of education and/or work experience.

TOWN OF WEST TISBURY, BOARD OF ASSESSORS

PRINCIPAL ASSESSOR

The West Tisbury Board of Assessors is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Principal Assessor.  This is a year-round 35 hours per week position with benefits.  Working under the direction of the Board of  Assessors; the Principal Assessor is responsible for the administrative, supervisory, professional, and technical work relating to the operation of the Assessing Department, including  assessment of all real and personal  property to determine the values upon which taxes are levied annually,  mapping services, abatements and maintenance of records all  in accordance in with Massachusetts General Laws, Department of Revenue certification standards, local statues and regulations, policies of the town and the  Board of Assessors.  Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, strong customer service skills required, comfortable with interacting with the public,  knowledge of modern property appraisal principles and practices. Knowledge of Massachusetts tax laws, and working knowledge of zoning, building codes, mapping procedures,  and CAMA systems.  

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Business Administration with five-seven  (5-7) years  of experience in real estate and personal property assessment and customer service, Massachusetts Accredited Assessor designation ( MMA)  or the ability to acquire same within two years of appointment;  or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous municipal experience preferred.  A valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

 The wage range for this Grade 9 position is $41.84/hr.--$58.87/hr.
