Burn (Open) Permit Fines

No Person shall have any open burning without a burn permit issued by the Fire Chief or his designee.  Permits will only be issued when burning is allowed by the State under [310 CMR 7.07 and 310 CMR 7.007(3)].  A permit may be denied in the interest of public safety.  Reasons for denial may include but not be limited to wind, dryness, location, water source, material being burned and amount being burned.  The hours for burning shall be stated with the permit.

Whoever violates this bylaw shall be assessed a fine of $100.00 (one hundred dollars) for the first offense and $300.00 (three hundred dollars) for the second and subsequent offense.
