Burn Permits in West Tisbury: You may now apply online
West Tisbury does permit Open Burning, but you must get a permit from the Fire Chief. Permits are issued for the Day of Burning only. January 15th - May 1st
Before you can burn for the first time, Applicants must first register online with the fire chief.

For renewals, have your burn permit number from the previous year ready (for example, BP-24-0001).

Once your information comes up, click "Renew. " You will then receive a follow-up email once the Fie Chief accepts your renewal.

If you do not wish to do this online, you may call the Fire Chief's office at 508-693-9555 or pick up paper copies of the permit applications outside the Fire Chief's office door in the lobby of the Public Safety Building on State Road. Paper applications and payments should also be returned to the Fire Chief's office.
