Hello Doug,
 
I am hoping that once you have read the following email, you will give me a call so we can talk 
further.  I have had trouble finding a way to call you.  I have left my cell number for you below.  
 
First, please allow me to say that we deeply appreciate the tremendous support that the town 
finance committees have bestowed on our schools. 
 
I write to respectfully request a postponement of the All Island Finance Committee Meeting 
scheduled for August 12, 2020.  Our request is in deference to the review process that has been 
laid out by the Oak Bluffs Planning Board (OBPB) and the Martha’s Vineyard Commission 
(MVC).
 
As you know, this project is currently under active review by the Martha’s Vineyard 
Commission.  Many of the questions raised in Ms. Thompson’s letter have previously been 
submitted to the MVC for that board’s review, which includes a public hearing.  We await the 
date of the MVC’s public hearing to answer any questions as well as to share additional insight 
into this project, which will provide safe and responsible athletic facilities for our students and 
the community.  It would be inappropriate for us to discuss the details of this project at this time 
given the pendency of this review.
 
Upon completion of the OBPB and MVC review processes, we would welcome an invitation 
from you to attend a public meeting to answer questions presented by the All-Island Finance 
Committee.
