2018 Police Officer of the Year

Officer Bradley Cortez

Chief Matthew Mincone of the West Tisbury Police Department is pleased to introduce Officer Bradley Cortez as the 2018 Police Officer of the Year!  He joined the police department in 2014 after serving in the Unites States Army -82nd Airborne Division from 2009-2013. During his tenure, Officer Cortez has become a certified field training officer, a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Tactical Response team, and the department’s quartermaster handling all equipment inventory. Officer Cortez is working on his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University.   

Officer Cortez is well respected by his peers and supervisors for his commitment to maintaining and protecting the quality of life in West Tisbury and our community as a whole. His demeanor and attitude create the model of a true community asset for our department. His ability to “lead by example” while remaining humble results in a natural leadership style that makes him an incredible member of the police department and a very worthy recipient of the 2018 Police Officer of the Year.
