Tanks and Underground

Any underground tank installed after the date of the adoption of this by-law and any existing underground tank, other than an approved sewage system, which in the opinion of the Board of Health may be in an unsafe condition, used or intended to be used to hold substances harmful to the water table, shall have a U-shaped leaching field pipe or similar monitoring device which can be used to determine if the tank is leaking. Periodic monitoring will be conducted by the Board of Health or its designated agent. 

Whoever violates this by-law shall be fined no more than $50 for each violation. Each day after notice by the Board of Health of the existence of a violation that a violation remains uncorrected, shall be deemed a separate violation.
