Part-time Circulation Assistant Substitutes at the West Tisbury Library

The West Tisbury Free Public Library is hiring!  We are looking for part-time substitute Library Circulation Assistants. This position will have very limited hours that will include weekends and some nights and filling in as a substitute when regular staff members call out.

The ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, an enthusiasm for learning, and solid knowledge of computers and new technologies. Work involves standing, stooping, carrying, lifting up to 30 lbs. Previous library experience and Associate's degree or higher strongly preferred. Starting wage is $21.99 an hour.

Director, Up Island Council on Aging 

The Town of West Tisbury is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Director for the Council on  Aging. 

This position serves the Towns of Aquinnah, Chilmark, and West Tisbury, Massachusetts. 

Applicants must have: an accredited bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, gerontology, public administration or related fields; two years’ experience in working with senior citizens; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. 

If hired, applicants will be expected to acquire SHINE, CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification, and become knowledgeable about Federal and State regulations concerning  programs for the elderly. Applicants must be CORI qualified, and have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. 

Grant writing experience leading to receipt of external funding, knowledge of health insurance benefits for those who are 60 years of age and older, general knowledge of counseling of the elderly, experience in service-based statistical analysis, and demonstration of the  ability to train and supervise employees and volunteers effectively should be included, if applicable. The hourly wage range for this position starts at $44.76 - $62.99 and includes full benefits.
