Over $500,000 is available to support eligible projects in FY 2012. The West Tisbury Community Preservation Committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm in Howes House. All residents, year-round and seasonal, are welcome to attend for general information, to participate in discussion, and to suggest projects that might qualify for CPA support. |

The following projects will be considered for CPA funding at Annual Town Meeting, April 2012:
Town Hall debt service: $100,000 from the Community Preservation Historical Resources reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to support debt service for the Town Hall renovation bond issue. This is the fourth of five annual installments authorized by vote at Annual Town Meeting, April 2008.
Field Gallery debt service: $40,000 from the Community Preservation Open Space reserve to support debt service for the acquisition of the Maley/Field Gallery property. This is the first of four annual installments authorized by vote at Annual Town Meeting, April 2011.

Historic town records: $5,250 from the Community Preservation Historical Resources reserve to preserve the town's historic records held by the Clerk and the Treasurer by converting them into microfiche format as required by state regulations.
Historic museum material: $27,208 from the Community Preservation Historical Resources reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to catalog and preserve historic material in the collection of the Martha's Vineyard museum. This is the project's second year; support for its first year was approved at Annual Town Meeting, April 2011. All island towns are being asked to contribute their proportional share of the project's total cost.
New affordable housing: $150,000 from the Community Preservation Housing reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to support construction by the Island Housing Trust of two homes at 619 Edgartown Road, where affordability is assured by the terms of a Condominium covenant, with preference for eligible residents of West Tisbury with incomes less than 100% of the Area Median Income.
Bailey Park housing: $104,400 from the Community Preservation Housing reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to support the construction by Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard of an affordable home (House #3) in Bailey Park.
Sepiessa septic system: $70,000 from the Community Preservation Community Housing reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to support the upgrade and expansion of the septic system to meet environmental standards and accommodate three additional rental apartments at the Sepiessa apartments owned by the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority.
Rental assistance: $86,000 from the Community Preservation Community Housing reserve, supplemented as needed from the Undesignated reserve, to support the rental assistance program of the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority for West Tisbury households.

The Community Preservation Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm in Howes House, and welcomes preliminary discussions of innovative projects.
