Over $900,000 is available to support eligible projects in FY 2011. The West Tisbury Community Preservation Committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm in Howes House. All residents, year-round and seasonal, are welcome to attend for general information, to participate in discussion, and to suggest projects that might qualify for CPA support. |
CPA funding for the following projects was approved at Annual Town Meeting, April 13, 2010 in the amounts indicated.
Article 27: $150,000 toward restoration of the foundation of the historic First Congregational Church of West Tisbury. The work is estimated to cost $331,244, and is part of a larger restoration and renovation project to be supported by private funding.
Article 28: $70,000 to support second mortgage loans under the Helm Loan Fund program administered by the Island Affordable Housing Fund, for qualified buyers of affordable housing in West Tisbury with incomes less than or equal to 100% of the area median income.
Article 29: $100,000 to support debt service for the Town Hall renovation bond issue. This is the second of five annual installments authorized by vote at Annual Town Meeting, April 2008.
Article 30: $8,150 to replace windows in the historic County Courthouse, contingent upon proportional support from all other Island towns.
Article 31: $25,000 to fund engineering and environmental studies on which to base a long term management plan for the preservation of the Town’s historic Mill Pond.
Article 32: $104,000 to support the rental assistance program of the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority for West Tisbury households.
Article 33: $225,000 to support affordable housing initiatives by the West Tisbury Affordable Housing Trust Fund administered by the West Tisbury Affordable Housing Committee and the Board of Selectmen.

The Community Preservation Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm in Howes House, and welcomes preliminary discussions of innovative projects.
