At Town Meeting in April 2008, voters approved $400,000 to support construction of permanently deeded affordable housing by the Island Housing Trust (IHT) at 250 State Road. Of the eight houses being constructed, four were supported by 2008 funds to make them available for eligible people with incomes at or below 100% of the area median income. These additional CPA funds will be used to make two more houses available to people with incomes in this range, where the need is especially severe. Residents of West Tisbury will have preference for all six homes. Construction is in progress, with completion expected in the spring of 2010.
